Technical characteristics
PLN P is Galletti's new range of air-cooled multipurpose units with total heat recovery for outdoor installation, equipped with multi-scroll solutions and featuring refrigerant R290. R290 (propane) is a natural refrigerant with a GWP of just 3, one of the lowest on the market. This GWP value ensures that the PLN P range complies with the gradual reduction in greenhouse gas emissions mandated by F-GAS regulations.
The range consists of 7 models with cooling capacities ranging from 50 to 150 kW, suitable for 4-pipe system applications. Using solutions with multiple compressors on the same circuit allows for optimized performance during partial-load operation, in addition to adjusting the power output to the actual thermal load.
This makes it possible to achieve some of the highest seasonal efficiency ratings on the HVAC market: SCOP up to 4.00 and SEER up to 5.00.
Furthermore, the PLN P range has another distinctive advantage: its multi-purpose configuration with total heat recovery. This allows both summer and winter thermal loads to be met with a single solution. This feature optimizes the overall energy efficiency of the system, reducing the need for additional systems and ensuring constant comfort throughout the year.
The use of top-quality, state-of-the-art components in the cooling, hydraulic, and electrical systems makes PLN P multipurpose units state-of-the-art in terms of efficiency, reliability, and operating limits. In fact, they are guaranteed to produce water up to 78°C and operate at full load when the outdoor air temperature ranges from -20°C to 48°C. Even at an outdoor air temperature of -20°C, it is still possible to produce hot water at 50°C.
This range offers high acoustic and hydraulic configurability. It has a wide range of accessories designed to meet installation requirements in limited spaces. It is possible to include a buffer tank and up to four hydraulic pumps on the unit without increasing its dimensions.
The advanced controller, which is standard across the entire range, allows continuous monitoring of operating parameters, advanced adjustment and connectivity logics, and the management of advanced procedures to secure the unit in the event of refrigerant leakage (A3).
Main components
Scroll compressors with an IDV valve
The scroll-type compressors designed to work with R290, which can be sound insulated, include internal thermal protection of the windings and are installed on special anti-vibration supports.
The scroll-type compressors are equipped with an IDV valve. IDV technology allows the compressor to avoid losses due to over-compression and the extra work the motor has to do at partial load, thus saving energy and improving seasonal and partial-load efficiency from 3% to 10%.
Electronic expansion valve
Standard electronic expansion valve including software that is designed and optimized to track cooling load behavior under all operating conditions.
Plate heat exchanger
Brazed corrugated plate dual heat exchangers made of stainless steel and optimized for use with R290 - one dedicated to the system and one to condensation heat recovery.
Plate heat exchangers with a dual cooling circuit and single hydraulic circuit are used on all units, thus reducing overall dimensions and maximizing efficiency.
Integrated hydronic kit (optional)
Brazed corrugated plate dual heat exchangers made of stainless steel and optimized for use with R290 - one dedicated to the system and one to condensation heat recovery.
